Gift Plans
| 1. |
The gift planner enables you to plan your gift buying for all occasions. You can set up a list
eg Christmas List 2002 and then add as many gifts by recipient as you require. Multiple gifts
can be added per recipient. There is no limit to the number of gifts you can add to a list. |
2. |
For each gift added, you may enter the details of the shop/website where you plan to buy or have
bought the gift. You will also be given the option of viewing a list of websites that sell the
item that you are looking for to make your shopping process easier. |
3. |
When you buy a gift, you may check this gift as purchased so you can track exactly what you have
spent and what you still have to buy. |
4. |
Against each item added to your list, there is a 'Gift History' button. Each time you buy a gift
for an occasion, the gift details are saved against the recipient. For example, if you buy a book
for your Mum for her birthday, then flowers on Mothers Day these are recorded. Therefore at
Christmas, you will be able to enter a gift idea for Mum and then select gift history. A popup
display will show all the presents previously bought for Mum, therefore you will see the following:
| Mum | Birthday | 02/02/02 | Book | Shallow Water by An Author |
| Mum | Mothers Day | 30/03/02 | Flowers | Mixed bouquet |
This should ensure that you don't buy the same gift twice. |
5. |
There is an option to view a printable version of your gift list. The list is split by gifts
bought and gifts still left to buy to make shopping easier. |
Wish Lists
| 1. |
Wish lists are lists of gifts that you would like to receive. You may add as many wish lists as
you require, and there is no limit to the number of gifts you can add to a list. |
2. |
Each time you add a gift to your wish list, you can specify the shop or website where you have
seen this item and the approximate price of the item. You will also be given the option of viewing
a list of websites that sell the item that you are looking for to make your shopping process easier. |
3. |
Each wish list that you set up for yourself can be shared with friends and family or kept private
for your own personal use. If you wish to share a list, but not show some of the gifts you may
set the 'Hide Gift' option against each gift on the list. The hidden gifts will be shown on your
list, but your friends and family will not be able to view these gifts. |
|
To share a list, select the Share Wish List option. You must enter the email address of the
person you wish to share the list with. An email will then be sent to that person with a link
to your wish list. That person may view the wish list, but will not be shown any gifts that you
have hidden or that have already been purchased. If your friend is a member of giftlistplanner,
they may update a gift as purchased. |
4. |
There is an option to view a printable version of a wish list. If you view this list, you
will view a list of all the gifts seperated by gifts purchased and gifts left on the list.
If a friend views the list, they will only see a list of the gifts left to buy and any gifts
that they have purchased for you. They may not view the gifts bought by other people. |
Occasions Diary
| 1. |
The occasions diary is a simple facility for recording the dates of all your special occasions.
Add as many occasions as you wish, specifying if the occasion is annual eg birthday or a one off
special event eg. wedding. If the event is annual, the occasion will automatically be updated
each year, so that it will only need to be added once. Once an event has passed it will be
removed from the diary, so that you are always viewing the next occasions to arrive. |
